On Friday, Oct. 28, senior lecturer Jon Zmikly led virtual reality demonstrations for high schoolers at the 15th annual Texas State AITP IT Symposium. The event took place in the new ballroom in the LBJ Student Center on Texas State University’s San Marcos campus.
Almost 300 students from 12 Texas high schools attended the event and participated in a range of presentations such as Women in IT, Network Administration, Spyware/Malware, Android Game Development, AI and more.
Between sessions, students experienced Oculus Quest and HTC Vive headsets while learning how Zmikly uses virtual reality and immersive technology in his courses to teach new forms of storytelling.
