The Texas Managing Editors, an organization of the state’s newspaper editors and other journalists, awarded Associate Professor of Practice Eraldo “Dino” Chiecchi with its Jack Douglas Award – the group’s highest honor – at its annual convention in Galveston on April 15.

Chiecchi was recognized for his contributions to the newspaper industry and for his contributions to the organization, once called the Texas Associated Press Managing Editors. Chiecchi, now in his eighth year of teaching, worked in daily journalism for 33 years, starting as an intern at the El Paso Herald-Post in his hometown. He began his teaching career at the University of Texas at El Paso, his alma mater.

Congratulations, Dino!
